- The problem I have with it is that he's saying live your life because someday its all going to turn to shit. But living for today because you're thinking about all the stuff that will be less enjoyable in the future isn't really living for the day. Is it? I agree with this ^. Learn to live with yourself.

- Hey, I'm 47, I had my kids in my early twenties, and I still have fun. I never stopped having fun. I had fun with my kids and now I have fun without them. Don't even begin to believe the lie that age equals becoming stagnant! - Why do you have to think so narrowly? So, s/he didn't spell cause right. Can't there be significance and meaning in that rather than allowing it to be a root for judgment? S/he spelled it in a way that was arguably unconventional but you still understood the word s/he was trying to communicate. Comments like that put up barriers rather than enabling respect and understanding of varying viewpoints.

Whatever it is you justify as being happy and truly living, embrace that and live that way. 40 with kids is a cliche referring to the daily grind, in reality he means live so that when this time comes you can embrace and appreciate the life you have lived. what he doesn't realize is that his future life does NOT have to be kids, bills, responsibility, long work weeks, and humorless. he has the choice to do whatever he pleases with his life. it appears as though he has a strong desire to submit to society's expectations, rather than break them. someone who truly has the freedom he is describing would feel no need to make such a statement, as they would realize that no future like that is in store for them.

- I'm sorry, but I feel like everything said in that poem is selfish. If your big concern in life is feeling bad about yourself because of all the free time you have, then you need to slap yourself in the face and think about all the people in the world who would kill to have that be their only concern. Furthermore, going from one extreme (depression) to the other (ego-tripping like a mother fucker) is ignorant because you WILL fall right back down again- that's human nature.
My advice is to forget about your desires, find work that's fulfilling to you, and learn to love and give to others. That's a lot less blameless than "fighting and fucking."

- why should you get older and smile less? There is no connection between biological life and happiness. Except when your body is failing. Other than that, age can give one a perspective (e.g.: spelling), that stupid kids that go around f*&^ing anything in front of them cannot grasp. That\'s called wisdom, and the wise person is the knows how to live, and those are always smiling.
